I'd trap and relocate, they'll soon get the message. if nobody understands this bit of info. about cats and wildlife, check with a wildlife website, or wildlife rehabber, and they'll be able to set your neighbors, who are not very neighborly, straight!!!! - Wednesday, April 23, 2008Well made bird house Reviewed By: Veronica Myers-Fuqua (Abbeville, Alabama) This is a well made blue bird house. My husband mounted it on a 6 foot pole in the middle of the back yard last year and a pair of blue birds were checking it out within a few days. They did collect pine needles and other debri to make a nest. My first clue they were nesting were the needles sticking out slightly.. Unfortunately our dumb neighbors cat killed the babies when they were on the ground. I cleaned out the nest box. This year in March, the pair returned, checked out the box briefly and built another nest. We now have babies inside and expect them to come out of the box soon. I would definitely recommend this house and mount it on a pole 6 feet or higher, away from bushes, etc. from predators and add a baffle under neath the house if you have a lot of snakes, raccoons, etc. in your area. I just have to figure out how to keep the neighbors cat out of our private and fenced back yard. It is so interesting to see the pair take turns feeding their young. We also have a feeding station and small bird bath but they are a good 10 feet away from the blue bird house.. They like to be left alone. - Friday, April 18, 2008bluebird nesting boxes Reviewed By: V. Martin (Acworth, Georgia) I have several of these in my yard and they are full of nests and baby birds. I will most certainly be ordering more boxes. Totally happy and satisified with the bird houses. Read More Reviews |
