Great Idea
Reviewed By: Kathie (Sterling Heights, Michigan)
I purchased this water feeder about a month ago. I thought it was a great idea, and placed it hanging between two bird feeders. They sit on the top, but don't drink from it. I'm not giving up hope. They just have to figure out what it is, or I have some pretty dumb birds!

Perfect for Shady Spots
Reviewed By: Margaret Mariam (Jamaica Plain, MA)
This water source works great in the shade. I have ten feeders and more than eight bird houses and NONE of my birds try to bathe in this one. (I have other, open, baths for that.) While the style is not good once the temperatures drop to freezing, its perfect 3 seasons a year. Even the woodpeckers will use this style, I'm very happy with mine; which is why I'm buying one more !

Very bad idea
Reviewed By: Linda (Charlotte , North Carolina)
This waterer is a bad idea when you consider that most birds poop when they bathe. When the water gets low in the dishes (bathes) the siphon breaks and essentially sucks up all the remaining water from the dishes and mixes it into the water container before refilling the dishes. Thus mixing all the bird poop and other impurities into the clean water (a bird poop snow globe!). Now add to this your average summer temps - heating that contaminated water and you have the perfect breading grounds for ALL KINDS of bacteria and other pathogens for the birds to drink. As I said, a bad idea!
