Niger Sack Packs

  (2 customer reviews)

These easy-to-use sacks come prefilled with thistle seed, a finch favorite! Finches and other small songbirds can cling to the nylon sack while feeding– they can even feed upside down. Larger birds won’t be able to access the seed, and the sack’s design wastes less seed than ordinary feeders. Hang from tree branch or hook with nylon cord. Refillable; each sack comes filled with 10 oz. of thistle seed.

finch love this!

I have three of these socks and have never had so many gold finch! It is not uncommon to see as many as 10 on the socks. I could never get them to come to my tube feeder so I was thrilled that they liked the socks.

Keep it dry!
Reviewed By: Linda (Charlotte, NC)
The thistle sock is an OK idea as long it never gets rained on. You see thistle in a very fragile seed imported from India. When it's packed into a sock such as this and gets soaked from rain, it can never really dry out causing the seed to break down or rot. Mold is EXTREMELY toxic to birds, if consumed, it usually can kill them within an hour! If you see that the finches are not eating the seed any longer, you can bet that the seed is no longer good and should be thrown out.
